Critical Home Repair Program

Rebuilding Together Hartford's Critical home repair Program has assisted Hartford's low-income homeowners facing critical issues. These include providing equpment to aid individuals in activities of dailing living (ADL), heat, hot water, major electrical, and plumbing.  The goal of this program is to help those who have a critical and immediate need that affects their ability to live in warmth, safety, and independence. The majority of this work is performed by paid contractors.

Below is Rebuilding Together Hartford's application process from application to approval. Review the steps and fill out the application to get started:

Step 1: Fill out the application in its entirety 

Step 2: RTH Internal Review (application information, homeowner income, home location, and status will be reviewed)

Step 3: If applicant qualifies, an RTH staff member will reach out to the applicant to schedule a home visit/assessment (assessment will either be conducted by a staff member, volunteer, or contractor)

Step 4: After the assessment has been conducted, RTH will input the data from the home and the applicant will be placed on the RTH waitlist until if/when action can be taken.

National Rebuilding Day Program

Hosted annually on the last Saturday of April, National Rebuilding Day focuses on a different neighborhood of Hartford every year, giving it’s homeowners a chance at some much needed home repairs such as window replacements, yard and basement clean ups, landscaping, electrical, and even plumbing work.
